For a time we lived next to the main rail line running through Brantford.
The station which still exists, is one of those built in an era of heavy dark oak trim and institutional
small white tile. The round house and coal tower were some of our favorite places to explore.

Often we were chased by hobos and it was always a cat and mouse game with "Old-man Lee", the local railroad cop.
Around 6p.m. we would head to the station to earn a few nickels, helping to carry luggage to people's cars.
